Our History
Makefast was established in 1974 by Bill and Brenda Brown. With a background in engineering and a practical approach to problem-solving in the marine sector, they introduced a ring and turnover for sailmakers that could be pressed rather than hand-sewn, offering an efficient alternative to traditional methods.
This early innovation helped Makefast gain a foothold in the sailing community. From there, the company broadened its product range, developing equipment to meet the evolving needs of boatbuilders and marine professionals.
