Our Story
Makefast is a design and manufacturing company based in beautiful mid wales, producing equipment for the marine and safety industries.
Many of our marine products have been developed in association with our customers and we are always pleased to discuss special production with you, Custom Marine Developments (CMD) has been set up exclusively to support these unique projects. Makefast is committed to continuous improvement always with the emphasis on quality and reliability but also with a focus on making a positive impact on the environment by developing and implementing effective green practices.
Our range of hardware and safety equipment is available from stock, however, as with marine, we can offer a bespoke service with options such as unique branding and colours to a fully designed and tested bespoke product.

Our History
Makefast was founded in 1974 by Bill and Brenda Brown, who had a passion for engineering and a desire to create innovative safety solutions for the Marine industry. Bill and Brenda Brown’s first product was a ring and turnover for sailmakers, which was unique in that it could be pressed rather than hand-sewn. This innovation helped them gain recognition in the sailing community, and they continued to expand their product line with new and innovative solutions for the boating industry. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has been a driving force behind Makefast’s success over the years.
